Have you ever heard of the term fair tourism? It is also called kind tourism to draw attention to the environmental pollution, destruction of civilization, and waste caused by tourism. Nowadays, fair tourism is more in the spotlight because so many people visit other areas and countries. Until now, do you usually travel while thinking about Fair Tourism? Now is the time to use these tourism method because travel is becoming common in our society.

The number of departures from Incheon International Airport is very high every year.

Even if it is not a holiday, Koreans traveling abroad make Incheon International Airport crowded. According to statistics released by the Korea National Tourism Organization, the number of overseas travelers has steadily increased since 2010, and the number of overseas travelers stands at 26.5 million as of 2017.

However, there are many problems with popular travel. With the spread of mass tourism such as package tours, material things have become more important. This has caused problems such as destroying the environment and troubling the residents of tourist areas. It is called over tourism. For example, the village of Bukchon Han-ok in Jongno-gu, Seoul, is visited by an average of 10,000 visitors a day. Tourists have been at odds with residents due to problems such as trespassing and pressing the doorbell. Also related, Boracay Island in the Philippines closed the island in April due to excessive tourism and environmental pollution.

To solve these problems, the officials of tourist sights started making some rules. In the case of Bukchon Han-ok Village, a tour allowance is established to promote tourists to this area between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays. Banners are used to inform tourists of these open hours. Boracay plans to resume tours on October 26th, and the Philippines' Ministry of Tourism said it will regulate the number of tourists daily.

In these situations we must practice fair tourism. Also, we should be aware of the existence of someone's life and be considerate of the tourist spot for sustainable tourism..For example, there are some things that involve accommodation run by local residents instead of large hotels, so it will become a benefit for local residents in the tourism area. Other examples include reducing travel by airplanes for fear of global warming caused by carbon dioxide emitted from airplanes, and also being considerate of the lives of locals and not behaving rudely. Thai elephant tracking is also an example of destruction of local nature, where elephants used for tourism purposes are abused in the process of breeding. If we know about this, we should refrain from choosing the elephant experience. There is a tour where visitors can learn about the seriousness of the polluted global environment, and also can experience the protection of the ecosystem. Right now, there are 11 slow cities in Korea, including Jeonju in Jeonbuk, Jecheon in Chungbuk and Wando in Jeonnam. These are great places to visit and enjoy a natural trip.

As mentioned above, we should practice fair tourism for a sustainable planet. It is difficult to implement the regulations of tourism areas alone, and it can only be achieved when our individual efforts and respect are added.
